The history of 727Sailbags is that of a meeting. Sharing common values, fanatical about boats and lovers of the oceans, we share a real passion for design and a taste for beautiful objects. This passion drives us every step of the way to develop a range of products, all made based on a circular and responsible economic logic. In tune with our environment, and in close touch with the world’s top yachtsmen, every single one of our recycled sail creations is made in the workshop adjacent to the 727Sailbags Container Store, which is located in the heart of “Sailing Valley” in Lorient, Brittany.
More than a brand, a state of mind
727Sailbags is a world apart. A world of stylish, practical, unique and timeless creations. Driven by a concern for detail, we put our craftsmanship and know-how into developing a benchmark brand, a hallmark for aesthetic and fashionable design. With top of the range quality, our products are made in the wide variety of shapes and materials offered by genoa, mainsail, gennaker or spinnaker sailcloth. Entirely hand sewn, they are designed to become essential basics. Life companions, where we blend the elegance of the “yachting attitude” with the dream of escape conveyed by the magic of the sea which has inspired us since the very first day.
Bags, clutch bags, interior decoration objects and clothes… At 727Sailbags, we love finding new ideas to recycle our favourite materials in a thousand and one different ways, and combining Dacron®, carbon fibre or spinnaker sailcloth, with cotton, leather, or cashmere. Each item that leaves our workshop is unique- from the iconic Légende handbag, to the mythical AA Butterfly armchair, to the must-have polo shirt with its sailcloth yokes. The range also comprises limited collections. Ephemeral collections, signed in exceptional sails or born of our artistic encounters, which assert and renew our 727Sailbags style.
Our codes, our values
727, this number alone conjures up the brand’s unique world. In reference to the number printed on the sail of the family yacht of Jean-Baptiste Roger, one of the founders, with which the first bags were made, they initiated the culture of numbers on the yokes, which adorn most of the creations. A sign of the unshakeable links which link our brand to the world of sailing, regattas and ocean racing. Each 727Sailbags creation is unique, as evidenced by the authentication label: the type of sail, the sailing vessel, with which skipper, in which seas, which oceans? We trace the maritime history of each item, combining authenticity and the latest trends.
